The Chief Minister of Punjab Shahbaz Sharif has done it again by announcing the Third Phase for the Laptop Distribution in Punjab 2014, this laptop distribution is among the students Boys and Girls of 9th and 10th Class. It is the third time that CM Punjab Shahbaz Sharif has announced about the distribution of Laptops among the students to encourage the passion of knowledge. The Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif’s Scheme for distribution of Laptop is to increase the knowledge and scope of research and quality education among the students and to bring the focus of students towards the information technology. In the third phase of Distribution of Laptop there will 100 thousand students will facilitate by giving laptops. The main motive behind this huge project is help students to gain knowledge and to make them professional for the future. This laptop scheme costs Rs. 7.5 billion and this is a very good step from the Shehbaz Sharif for the students.

I am doing Bachelor from Virtual University (VU) and come to know about your Laptop
Scheme. After going through the eligible list of universities (available at HEC website),
it took me by surprise that Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU) is there in the list, but
VU is not included. VU is Pakistan’s first University based completely on modern
Information and Communication Technologies (ICT). Who can use a Laptop better than a
distance learning student? So (like AIOU), we (VU students) also deserve to avail this
wonderful opportunity.
